About Me.

Judy Long has undergone extensive training, including Partner’s Recovery Training, Partner Betrayal Trauma, Intimacy Anorexia, Gottman II, DBT, EMDR, APSATS Certified Clinical Partner Specialist and Emotional Transformation Therapy.  Judy also utilizes insights from developmental psychology, interpersonal neurobiology, and spirituality to help her clients experience greater healing in their lives.

In the realm of recovery from sex addiction and ongoing infidelity, the conventional approach often fails to acknowledge one crucial aspect: the importance of healing within the relationship itself. While these traditional models may be well-intentioned, they usually encourage couples to focus exclusively on their individual healing journeys, promoting a hands-off approach to each other’s recovery.

Recognizing a need for a more holistic perspective, Judy Long, LPC, offers a transformative approach that integrates the latest insights into couples’ recovery. With a deep understanding of the complexities surrounding sex addiction and relational trauma, Judy develops customized intensives designed to honor the unique dynamics of each couple. Drawing from years of exploring adult attachment, addiction, and trauma, she employs a relational-psychobiological framework rooted in evidence-based practices, skillfully blending elements from the NARM, Gottman, Partner-Centered Recovery, and Intimacy Anorexia models.

Judy Long, LPC, brings a wealth of expertise to her trainings, equipping individuals and couples with the necessary tools to navigate the complexities of relational and sexual health. With specialized certifications including Couple-Centered Recovery Level II and Gottman Level II, Judy is well-versed in evidence-based practices that promote healing and intimacy within relationships. As a certified Intimacy Anorexia Specialist through the AASAT and trained in the Multidimensional Partner Trauma Model from APSATS, she effectively supports partners experiencing the impacts of sexual addiction. Her qualifications also extend to PACT Level I training, and she is actively pursuing certification in Deceptive Sexuality and Trauma Treatment (DSTT). On the addiction side, Judy is a C-SAT candidate and a Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist, further enhancing her ability to address the nuances of sexual addiction and foster recovery among individuals and couples. Notably, Judy refrains from labeling the emotional responses of betrayed partners as codependency or co-addiction, fostering a more compassionate understanding of their trauma experiences.

As a C-SAT candidate, Judy is particularly attuned to the developmental challenges that many individuals with addiction may face, challenges that can impede their ability to cultivate healthy relationships. She firmly believes that recovery from addiction and the restoration of relationships are interconnected goals—part of a unified journey toward deep healing and transformative growth.

Judy’s personal journey serves as a testament to her beliefs, showcasing how both individuals and couples can not only emerge from the shadows of chronic betrayal but also thrive and flourish. With Judy’s guidance, couples are encouraged to embrace their healing journey together, transforming their relationships into vibrant partnerships filled with connection and resilience.
